Following on from the successful workshop at the buildingSMART International Standards Summit in March, a follow-up workshop is planned with GS1 to discuss "Building Digital Marketplaces".

  1. 10.00 – 10:15. Welcome 

  2. 10.15 – 11.45 GS1 standards in use in construction                             and infrastructure
    •    Key stakeholders
      1.   We should define who are the most important actors to approach
    •    Business opportunities using GS1 & buildingSMART processes
      1.    We need to understand Situation, Problems, Implications and Need-Pay off
    •   GS1 Standards
      1.    Identification : GTIN, GLN, GMN, GIAI..
      2.    Capturing/sharing : DataMatrix/RFID, EDI, EPCIS, Blockchain (brief intro only)
      3.    What GS1 standards are used in the different stages (design – construction – operation) and in purchasing routes. Including Supply Chain and Life Cycle management use cases & examples (PoC, Projects or implementations.


  3. 11.45 – 13.15 CEN 442 standards
    •    There are several standards that are developed for the different stages (design – construction – operation)
    •    Data Templates(using bSDD), IFC, IDM&ISO 19650, LOIN etc. How can these standards be used with GS1 standards ?
    •    Smart CE Marking

  7. 15.30 – 17.15 Use case “external wall”
    •    Defining the “construction element” level based on the example of;
      1.    Generic wall (as designed)
      2.    Specific wall (with specific products)
      3.    Clay masonry units (bricks)
      4.    Mineral wool (insulation)
      5.    Wood timber frame
      6.    Classifications, ecl@ss, ETIM, Uniclass, Coclass, IFC (link to GS1)
